We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to join our growing team. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of sales and bank transactions, monitoring inventory valuation, and supporting the finance department with essential accounting tasks. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their accounting skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure banked money matches sales made, and manage daily bank sales records.
- Monitor and report on inventory valuation and stock levels.
- Manage petty cash, ensuring accurate recording and disbursement of funds.
- Post journal entries and transactions into the company’s internal accounting system.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly accounting reports, including sales, expenses, and profitability.
- Monitor margins and contribute to variance analysis between expected and actual results.
- Support the finance team with reconciliations and audits when necessary.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and year-end reporting.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of accounting experience (internship experience is acceptable).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software (knowledge of Odoo or similar ERP systems is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
